IMPORTANT - Please read the handicapping formula below
All team members must have a GHIN handicap. The maximum handicap for each individual player is 24. The spread between the lowest and highest handicapped players cannot exceed 15. For example, if your team handicaps are 1, 5, 7, and 13, your team spread would be 12. This is because the difference between the lowest handicap (1), and the highest handicap (13), is 12, which fits within the handicap spread parameters. If your team handicaps are 1, 5, 7, and 17, your team spread would be 16. This is because the difference between the lowest handicap (1), and the highest handicap (17), is 16, which DOES NOT fit within the handicap spread parameters.
The handicap formula is calculated by dividing the total handicap of the team by four and multiplying the result by 35%. For example, if a team had handicaps of: Joe 4; Pete 10; Steve 11; Dave 18 - the team handicap would be 43. Dividing 43 by 4 equals 10.75. Multiplying 10.75 by 35% equals 3.76 for the team.
